- Physicians and non-physician practitioners who can bill E/M services
- Physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists furnishing RTM under a therapy plan of care
Eligibility & billing requirements
- Same eligibility as 98980
- 98980 must be billed first for the same month
- Only reported after the first 20-minute threshold (98980) has been met
When to use it
Complex rehab case requiring extra review
After the initial 20-minute review, the practitioner spends another 20 minutes coordinating with a physical therapist about a plateau in progress.
